Click WARNING - SPOILERS!
Another Adam Sandler movie. I really liked the ending message of it all, but there were some parts that I just had to sit there and pretend like nothing was happening, typical of an Adam Sandler movie. I did find myself crying profusely during 2 parts of the movie. When he was rewinding his father telling him "I love you, son." and when he was dying on the road telling his son that family comes first. It was very touching, I can't deny that.
It was very clever how they decided that he got the remote from "Beyond" at "Bed Bath and Beyond." I guess at the end they suggest that the remote really did exist and the crazy scientist gave him another chance, but I don't really like that. So, I'm just going to ignore that they put that in the movie. :) And the remote looked pretty cool. All sleek and a pretty color blue. Hehe.
Now...the dogs humping the duck just got repetitive and stupid. It was kind of cute at the beginning when he tells his kids that they shouldn't know what he's doing until they're older, but they just kept bringing it back. And they had to show a hole in the butt of the duck. *rolls eyes* It's an Adam Sandler movie Jephthah! Get over it! Okay, I will. It was cute to have a "Making Of" in his life DVD, though...I'd rather them not really show it. I guess they did it in a fairly good way, but it was uncomfortable for me to watch it. I don't like having an uncomfortable feeling while I'm watching a movie. But, I digress.
It was also clever in how the remote worked. It had a memory. Though, I don't see why the remote would have a feature like that. If you want to skip something in your life, then you have to always skip it? Eh, I don't know. It could get you thinking. In order to get something good, you have to endure something bad. So if you want to skip something bad then you'd have to skip something good. Or something? I don't know. It gets you thinking nonetheless. So, I give them credit for that.
Overall I'd say the movie had a good enough message that I'd want to recommend it, but you have to be prepared to feel uncomfortable. It's an Adam Sandler movie, after all.
