I was walking by a television showing the morning news on CNN. This was probably a week or so after the election of Obama, the first African American president. What do I see in the little ticker beneath the news? "Taylor Swift tells the truth about her breakup with Joe Jonas." What the crap? Honestly, I'm somewhat interested in it but I don't care enough to think it belongs on freakin' CNN. Not to mention this isn't just a movie that people like to watch. This is still a human being's personal life. Someone's personal life shouldn't be plastered all over the news. I think there are more important things in the world to be covering than celebrity personal lives. People seem to think that because they are celebrities they need to be perfect.
One of my favorite stories I saw was a story about Keanu Reeves picking up a penny. Seriously... who cares?? They act like he shouldn't be picking up coins off the ground because he's already made millions from his various movies. Umm, I'm pretty sure I'd be picking up coins off the ground if I was a millionaire, too. It's just a habit. It's fun to see if it's heads or tails to see if you're lucky or not. :P Oh, but he's a celebrity and shouldn't be messing with that kind of thing. Ugh, I'm disgusted.
In short: we are all human beings. Let's try to treat each other that way. Let's worry about the things that matter.
