Smallville Ramblings

6.04 - Arrow

I loved this episode! It reminded me of all the other episodes where we are introduced to other heroes such as the Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman. Though I think this episode tops them all. I'm not sure why, but I like the Green Arrow out of all of them. He seems more real to me, or something. His attitude reminds me of myself at times, like Lois. They make a good couple, even if their whole relationship seems a bit rushed. Though, maybe not really. I don't know! I guess I'm not too sure of myself on some things. Whatever. Umm... right. The episode. I had no idea what the Green Arrow was all about, so this whole episode was confusing at first, and I was thinking the same as everyone else that he was a theif. Which I guess he is a thief, but not for the money and valuables. He was trying to find justice and everything. It was starting to become clear when he mentioned that all of the things he stole were off of the black market and whatnot. Aww, Clark was so great on protecting him. I find it hard to believe that Lois couldn't tell that it was Oliver, especially when she was in his face at the very beginning. It reminds me of Superman, actually, how he just wears glasses and suddenly nobody can recognize him. Teehee...

What else? Oh, LANA! Lana, Lana, Lana... so evil!! I thought that maybe as Lana got closer to Lex that she would start realizing who Lex was becoming and leave him, but no! She becomes like him instead! The look that she gave that guy and that tone of voice... scary! Does anyone remember the days when Lana was a sweet innocent high schooler? It seems like such a long time ago. *sigh* And of course, Lex is supporting her becoming all evil and everything. Speaking of Lex... what exactly happened near the end? Did he ask his father to make Lana think that Lionel was going to hire that guy, or what? And why would Lionel concede to that? Lionel is really confusing me. Is he a good or a bad guy? He seems to be turning into a good guy, but there are times where he seems like the same old Lionel. I'm not sure what to think. There didn't seem to be any kind of follow up on Lex and Lana having sex or anything. Figures... everytime I want a follow up on something, it never happens the episode after. Well, except for season premieres because they have to resolve most of the issues left open from the season finale.

Also, there was absolutely no Jimmy. I'm somewhat happy about that, but it doesn't quite make sense. He seems to only be there half the time. I want Chloe to have the chance to get rid of him! Heh, that's so evil. No, I like Jimmy. He's so cute! Just don't get too serious with Chloe. Just... leave! No, I don't know. I'm curious to where they take this triangle of Clark, Chloe, and Jimmy. Show me! It's hard to show me when you don't even have Jimmy in an episode. Whatever, I'm kind of happy and sad about it. I'm sure if he was in the episode I'd be whining about how I hate him getting in the way of Clark and Chloe. That's just the way it is, I suppose.

I absolutely loved the ending as well. Seeing Clark and Oliver have a undercover connection with each other, and yet still not really agree with each other's tactics was awesome. I'm curious to see where they take that. Oh, and by the way, I completely called this episode in the last ramble. Didn't I mention Oliver getting Lois in trouble and Clark saving the day? Well, I guess he didn't really save the day, but Oliver did get her in trouble in a round about kind of way. So, umm, some credit goes to me or something.

It was interesting seeing Lois develop as a writer. She'll probably get some publicity in the newspaper world and end up at the Planet from her writing about the "Green Arrow Bandit." That's what I predict. She's getting a knack for this writing stuff! And we all know where she ultimately ends up, right? Yup, we sure do.

I guess this ends this ramble. Less than a week until next episode! :)
