Smallville Ramblings

6.06 - Fallout

Yet another Smallville episode. I thought that this was, yet again, another great episode. Seeing Raya come back was fun. I guess they didn't show her actually die before, so they are allowed to bring her back like that. I suppose she got sucked in when Clark did and once she was under Earth's yellow sun, she was able to heal herself. It was fun to see her running around with Clark! It reminded me a lot of Run from season 4, with all the racing around in superspeed. Oh, such good times. It was nice to see Clark with someone who is actually like him. He's always claimed to not feel alone with other people who are "like him," but Raya was actually Kryptonian and everything. Good for him. Though, it did make it that much sadder to see her die. How sad... Clark seems to always see the people he starts to care about die or leave him.

I was a little confused about the "box" that Baern absorbed. Well, first of all, that thing doesn't look like a box. Why do Lex and Lana and their doctor friend insist on calling it a box? That confuses me to no end. But, anyhow, I thought that Raya said that if Baern was able to absorb the power from that he would be too powerful for either one of them to stop him. And yet, he absorbed it, and with Jor-El's little medallion thing, Clark was able to stop him with not a lot of trouble. It did cause Raya's death, but after that, Clark was able to overpower him. I'm not sure why they were so worried. Maybe I missed something. Though, seeing Lil Bow Wow in Smallville was kind of fun. I actually didn't know that he was Lil Bow Wow until a couple of minutes ago when I checked imdb. I thought that he was a little too forced at times, but overall he did alright. He had an awesome evil glare.

Lana! I loved Lana in this episode. Not only was she playing on Lex's level, she was all in his face about it. Though, honestly, I think that her lines sound a little unnatural when she is being evil. Maybe I'm just not used to it. I don't know. I'm just rambling. Seeing Lex angry with her was awesome. He is acting like he would to anyone else who lied to him. He basically orders her to give him the "box" back, and then he decides to add in a "please" to make it all better. I loved Lana coming back with saying that someone was finally playing on his level. He didn't want to accept it. He seems to have the attitude that he can act how he wants to other people, but they surely can't do the same to him. I got giddy when I heard her tell Lex to make the choice of her or the "box." T hen Lil Bow Wow has to ruin it by making the box turn to dust and throwing them against a wall. Way to go. But at least Lana stood her ground at the end when Lex tried to cover his ground with, "Do you honestly think I would have chosen the box over you?" "I guess we'll never know." YAY! I can't wait to see where all of this goes.

Speaking of Lana, I was also excited to see her finally talk to Clark is a semi-nice way and for Clark to finally semi-answer a question for her. It was cool to see them finally somewhat talking to each other again. That look she had on her face when she saw Clark walk in was interesting. I can't quite decide if she was uncomfortable, a little happy to see Clark, or a bit frustrated with Lex to treat Clark harshly. Actually, I think it might be all of the above. Lana is slowly coming back to the good side. I'm not sure I'd like seeing them together again, but at least they can be friends. It'd be so sad for them to remain enemies forever.

Jimmy was finally in an episode! And apparently he is Chloe's boyfriend. Though, it's still nothing like what Clark and Chloe have. Chloe actually lied to his face and made a fool of him. It was funny to see Jimmy's visit with Lex crash and burn. I mean, how stupid could you be? What did he seriously expect from something like that. "Here, I have some pictures of your car late at night. What now?? "Then he just lays the pictures on his desk to let Lex take them from him. He should have just shown them to Lex, or something. That way he wouldn't let Lex just have them. Maybe. Though, I know that Jimmy probably still has copies of those pictures in his computer. But it still seemed to stupid to me.

The ending was great. Clark is slowly becoming the Superman we all know he'll be one day! I'm not sure what his training is going to be like, but reviving the fortress is a great start. If only Jonathan was there to see Clark... how sad. :( All I can do now is wait for next week to see where they take all of this.
