10.15 - Fortune
What a funny, entertaining episode! I smiled and laughed uncontrollably many times while watching it. Tess and Emil? Emil impersonating Elvis? Clark and Chloe married? Lois betting her engagement ring? Oliver dressing up as a show girl with make up and everything?? Oliver and Chloe are really married?? So many hilarious and crazy things, and I'm pretty sure this means that the next episode Lois and Clark are getting married! Right! Clark said he'd marry her in 5 days or 5 years, and they just had their Bachelor(ette) parties which happens pretty close to when the actual wedding happens... so it's got to be next episode! It's got to! YAY! I'm certainly looking forward to it.
I must admit, it was kind of cute to see Clark and Chloe walking around his house as bride and groom with rings and all. They would really make a great married couple except for the fact that the romantic side of their relationship doesn't really exist. "You don't think that we--" "--exchanged vows?" "--well we--" "--said 'I do?'" "--both--" "--did the deed? Oh, God. Don't say the word 'consummate.' The answer has to be no." I think the fact that Clark woke up on the bed and Chloe was in the closet would mean that they didn't do anything. What was Chloe doing in the closet anyway? Clark locked her in there for fun? That's a little strange. Not to mention that little lemur. I assume Clark returned it? What else would they do with the lemur? It'd be kind of fun to see Clark and Lois suddenly have a pet lemur. Aww, Shelby would have company! You know, it's a good thing that Clark has powers because otherwise it would take days to clean up his house. I'm sure it'll be back into its normal shape by next episode since it'd probably take Clark about 10 seconds to clean it all up. I wish I had super powers. Goodness.
The cast must have had so much fun making this episode. It looks like the video they showed at the end was just them improvising funny things. A lot of those lines must have been improvised. Clark looked so at ease with himself! I loved it when Clark was with Ollie trying on wedding rings. Clark's little fake smile before Oliver put his hand over the camera was hilarious! I've never seen Tom Welling smile like that before! I'm pretty sure at the end of that scene when Clark realized the ring was stuck wasn't scripted. I mean, if he was really Clark why would he have any problem getting a ring off his finger? No, I think Tom Welling got the ring stuck on his finger and laughed at himself for it, and they decided to include it in the video. How fun. I really hope that in the season 10 dvd box set they have some special features including a making of this episode. They must have fun together, even if Michael Rosenbaum isn't there with them. Hm. We still haven't seen him lately... what is Lex up to? Oh, we'll find out soon enough. Next week when Clark and Lois get married (I'm assuming), I'm sure he'll show up as the Michael Rosenbaum we all know and love and ruin everything for Clark and Lois somehow. I'll be angry for him ruining the wedding, but so incredibly happy to see him back. I'm excited to see me actually be right.
I don't understand this Oliver and Chloe being married thing. How can you just go get a marriage certificate so easily on one drunk night? Perhaps that sounded stupid. People do it all the time in Vegas, right? So her and Ollie really did get married, and she pretended to marry Clark? That's one exciting night. How did the marriage certificate get ripped in half so conveniently to make it so each half couldn't see any part of the second half? Rather convenient. I assume that it's still valid even when it's ripped in half. They are really married? It just doesn't seem fair that they got to go from dating to married without being engaged. Being engaged was the worst part of my relationship with my husband. We just wanted to get married and hated planning everything. I suppose Ollie and Chloe are actually going to stay married? When do they plan on telling everyone else? Is Chloe really going to leave and bring Oliver with her? How far away is Star City anyway? I'm sure we'll still see them around. I mean, they decided to include Chloe in the credits, after all. Not to mention they HAVE to be there for Clark and Lois's wedding! They are the best man and maid of honor! And Lex and Lana are bound to show up! I just know! Don't ruin things for me, Smallville. I can't take it.
It makes me wonder how they came up with Emil becoming an Elvis impersonator. Perhaps he showcased his great Elvis impression on the set and the writers thought it would be so funny to make him do it on camera? I don't know if he was actually singing (didn't sound too much like it), but he definitely was doing those dance moves. Way to go, Emil! I didn't realize how awesome you were until this episode! "I really wish I didn't understand the physics of this!" What a thing to say at a time like that! Emil, you are awesome. I didn't know he was married before and his wife died. That's really sad... she apparently died a while ago, though. He certainly didn't have a wife back in season 6 or whatnot. I guess he could be ready to move on now... with TESS. What the heck? I didn't see that coming at all! I wonder if they'll actually keep going with that relationship. It's a little too weird for me. I don't know who I think Tess is actually good for, but Emil? I guess Emil is a pretty cool guy? I don't know. They'll have to do a pretty good job convincing me that they should be together if they are actually going to keep the relationship going.
Oliver is still infected with this darkness, right? He certainly doesn't seem to be changed at all. Perhaps it just plants itself and then will only overtake Oliver when he becomes really angry or evil or something. I have no idea. Maybe next episode when Clark and Lois get married they'll also ruin the wedding with Oliver becoming evil. I must say, their wedding day isn't looking so good according to me. Maybe Smallville will be nice and let their wedding day be perfect. Please??
It was fun to see Tess as a part of the group. I was a little surprised to see her and Chloe jump out and give Lois her tiara and veil before the party began. I don't know what this wine was supposed to do to them, but I don't really get it completely. Did it really just make them act drunk all night and wake up without any memory of the night, or did it influence them to act crazier than normal? I would think crazier than normal since some pretty crazy things happened, but perhaps they are all that crazy drunk. Who knows?
I really felt Lois's pain when she realized she didn't have her engagement ring. Holy cravitz, I've always been so scared that I would lose my ring. There's so much money on my finger and it's so small and easy to lose! I wear it all the time, but what if it just slipped off and felt through some crack and I never found it again?? It hasn't happened yet, so I'm okay, but it happened to Lois! Even worse, she was the one that bet it away and lost it. Good thing she was actually able to track it and get it back. As nice as Oliver's offer to buy her a new one was, she obviously wouldn't want her ring that she wore for the rest of her life be from an ex-boyfriend and not from Clark.
I don't get why Oliver and Lois woke up together on the train tracks. Why did Oliver tell Lois he needed her help and then whisk her away? Did it have to do with the gambling they did in the casino? Did Oliver wake up with his arm around Lois because he stills wants her? Did someone set them up that way? Did the writers just want to make them look cute together one last time? Probably that last one. I was hoping they'd show us what really happened that night, so I'm glad they included that video at the very end, even if I wanted to see a little more of what actually happened. I'll just appreciate what I got.
Next episode they must be getting married! If not next episode, it must be the one after that. I'm ready for it, Smallville!
