Smallville Ramblings

7.12 - Fracture

We finally got to see Kara again! It's about time. Now all we're missing is Jimmy. Hopefully we'll see him soon enough. He should be excited to see Kara back and all. Perhaps he can jog her memory, and get her away from Lex. Ugh. I'm not liking the idea of something going on between Lex and Kara. What is that... Kex? You know, it'd be kind of weird if Lex ever hoooked up with someone who's name started with 'S'. Then what we would call them... Sex? Yeah, not so much. If it was like a Sabrina or something we'd have to go with Labrina. Anyway, on to rambling about the episode...

I loved this episode. It was like a different version of Nemesis except Clark was trapped with the good Lex in his mind. Though, this episode also made me laugh hysterically. Okay, so Lex gets shot in the head and he's... in a coma? Are you joking? I guess you could kind of explain it with that whole high white blood cell count or something. Supposedly he has this thing with escaping death... but, I don't know. Getting shot in the head and only going into a coma is a stretch. A gigantic one. But without it, the entire plot of the episode would be gone. So I'll get over it. What else was there? Oh yeah. So, apparently the only way that anyone could find out where Kara is is to get inside of Lex's mind. Umm... how about the people who found Lex? He was kind of laying right next to where Kara and Lois were. Even if you somehow argued that Kara and Lois were moved someplace else... when Clark got into Lex's mind and saw the GPS thing of where he was, he was just where Lex was laying. Whoever found Lex, and they must've found him quickly for him to still be alive, it sure seems like they could point them in the right direction. Oh, here's another question. Why the heck did they decide to take Lex to Smallville Medical Center? I mean, we all know that when someone is in a critical condition, like having a freakin' bullet in your head, going to a small town hosipital out of state is the best idea. *rolls eyes* But, again, the plot wouldn't quite work out if Lex didn't go back to Smallville so Clark could get inside of his head. I'll get over it.

Now that the ridiculousness is out of the way... w00t!! I loved little Alexander! My favorite quote of the entire episode: "Trust me Clark. You're my best friend." Awww! All of these memories and good times of Clark and Lex being best friends just rushed all back! I loved that smile that Clark gave back to him, too. "Aww, he really does still care about me as a friend deep down." It really makes me wonder where Lex is going to go from here. Yes, he's had a hard life. You can see that from all the scenes we see of birthday parties where nobody comes, Lionel beating him, his mom getting mad at him for giving in to Lionel's beatings, being made fun of at school, and so on. From all that he still was able to come out as a good person with just bad tendencies. (in previous seasons) Now we see him more like someone who tries too hard to get people to care about him. He just wants control. But, whenever he gets that control it always seems to backfire on him. It was interesting that Lex finally got what he always wanted from Lionel. Remember from Truth in season 3 when Chloe asked what Lex really wanted from Lionel? He wanted Lionel to love him. He finally got it! Lionel sincerely told Lex that he loved him. What did Lex do? He looked at him, and walked out of the room. He's been so rejected by people that he can't accept what's right in front of him. Now people are actually reaching out for him, and he's not taking any of it. I really hope that he starts to accept Clark as a friend again. I mean, if Clark is even being nice to Lex after what he did to Lana and to himself (by taking Lana away from him) then Lex really needs to seize the opportunity. I like seeing them be friends. :)

I'm glad that Clark is starting to sympathize with Lex and really want to be there for him. Granted, it helps a lot when he can jump in his mind and see that he really does have a good side to him. It's kind of funny that it took something as extreme as that to convince Clark that there was still good in Lex. No, he started to see it back in Nemesis last season. He was starting to regret being mean to him and everything. You know, does Clark know everything that Lex did to Lana? Specifically making her think that she was pregnant? Because seriously, that's one of the cruelest things I've ever heard. That's what really crushed Lana. She was going to have a baby and that was probably the big reason why she decided to say yes to Lex in the first place, and then it's taken away from her, and then she finds out it didn't even exist in the first place. Absolutely crushed her. Now she's all weird and pyschologically scarred because of it and Clark is having to do the patchwork for her. Well, kind of. She's doing it herself, actually, but Clark is being there for her and not leaving her for it. Good for him, and her. (Even if Clark wasn't being as acceptive as he could have been at first.)

I want to see Clark and Lana together again like they were at the beginning of season 5. There's so many mixed feelings for what they have now. They both still love each other and everything, but Clark has now seen more of the damage that Lex did to her and that she has this dark side now. I'm just hoping that we get to see something good come from it all. Why don't they get freakin' engaged already? They are already living together... goodness. Before when Clark told her his secret in Reckoning back in season 5, he immediately asked her to marry him. Now what? I don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Speaking of terrible things that Lex does, holy cravitz on a stick. When he saw Clark in his head the second time and he made him watch Lex and Lana having sex... ugh! Terrible! I can't imagine what that'd be like for Clark. Utterly terrible. I really hope he mentions that to Lana... or something. Or, maybe not. I want to see her refute her statement about always loving Lex. That just... I find it very hard to believe that she loves Lex more than Clark. Yes, that's it. She probably still has a small part of her that still loves Lex. I reluctantly remember her kissing Lex back in Wrath... I really hope nothing comes from that. But, why would they put that in there otherwise? Just to give hope to the Lexana fans out there? To confuse the heck out of everyone? Either she's with Clark or she's dead. That's the deal, okay Smallville?

Clark needs to cool it sometimes. He always is accusing Lex of doing terrible things and screwing up people's lives. Even now when he's seen a good side to Lex, he didn't believe him when Lex said that he tried calling Clark but Lana hung up on him twice. That could be the truth. Now, Clark did see Lex take Lois's phone when she had proof that Lex had been with Kara. That would seem to indicate that Lex didn't want anyone to know that he had found Kara and was associated with her. But still, Clark doesn't know for sure. At least he was accusing him in a nicer way than usual. He didn't have the tone he usually has or the sneer on his face. Baby steps, I suppose.

You know, this is kind of random, (but what isn't in these ramblings?) but Lex's mom looks angry all the time. Every time that I see her in an episode she always looks like she's just mad at whatever is going on. She's either mad that Lex isn't being a good man, or that Lionel is ruining Lex's life. If she could just get that sneer off her face, I might like her more. Now she's just annoying me. I hope she dies too. Oh wait... she already did! Sweet!

And Chloe! I'd forgotten about Chloe for a moment there. She saved Lex's life! I loved the conversation that Clark and Chloe had after she woke up, too. "Speaking of heart beats, you didn't have one for over 18 hours." The look of concern on Clark's face just made my heart want to melt. (Good thing it didn't or else... I'd be dead.) One of my favorite parts of that scene was probably after Chloe refuted Clark telling her not to do it again by telling Clark that it was her choice to make and he just stood there, thought about it and reluctantly agreed. "Of course it is." Awww... freakin' kill Lana, Clark. Hook up with Chloe. You can just forget Lois while you're at it, too. Maybe killing her would be best. Maybe I shouldn't always resort to killing people when I don't like them. Eh.

Okay, I think this is going to wrap up this rambling. Another new episode is coming up pretty soon; I'm excited to see what happens. Maybe Lex will start to get less evil... or something. We'll see!
