Smallville Ramblings

10.4 - Homecoming

So many warm fuzzies everywhere! They are all over the place! Holy cravitz! I had such doubts for this episode when it started off by showing us Brainiac and Bug Boy in the "previously on Smallville" bit. I was about to explode thinking that they were going to introduce Brainiac as a problem YET AGAIN. But no! No, they didn't! He was a good guy and convinced Clark to go for it with Lois and put his past behind him. YAY! Seriously, I'm exploding with such excitement and happiness. Not only that, but Clark and Lois finally told each other "I love you" AND Clark FLEW at the end! Oh my goodness. Here we go.

Okay, it almost makes sense why Jonathan would come back to see Clark. Almost. Perhaps Jor-El or someone from the future decided to make him appear somehow in order to convince Clark that it wasn't his fault that he died? In some weird Smallvillian way, it almost works. And you know, I'm becoming more and more okay with this alternate dimension if it is indeed another dimension. I mean, what could go wrong when Clark and Lois are together? Seriously??

I must admit that I cried a bit while Clark was reminiscing from high school. Particularly when he went back to the torch and saw the old Wall of Weird and the young enthusiastic Chloe. I'm a very nostalgic person and it made me remember having to leave high school and college behind with all the friends and memories made there. I got slightly worried when he was remembering back to Lana. Of course he has a soft spot for Lana, but Lois is standing right there and she is not filled with Kryptonite and is so much better for him anyway. The message in this episode was really fantastic. Stop dwelling on the past and future and be happy with what you have! There are so many good things dangling in front of you to be worrying about what might happen in the future or being broken up about something in the past! Again, warm fuzzies everywhere.

The Torch's legacy is living on! It's for sure that Chloe is still alive and kicking and is obviously by some computers. I got a bit giddy when I saw her message to the two high schoolers that took over the Torch. There's hope that we'll see Chloe! I'm hanging on to that hope for dear life!

I thought it was hilarious that Lois actually remembered so many people's names and random things she did with them in high school. Her time at Smallville High must have been a very memorable experience for her to remember things so vividly. She tried so hard to convince everybody that she was an alumni as well. Aww... that stupid punch serving girl. Who is that rude? "Oh, you came with Clark Kent? He's so dreamy! I loved him! Though, I thought he looked good with Chloe, and he was perfect with Lana! ...are you dating? Goodness, does he even like you?" So quick to judge! I wanted to punch her in the face! But, it's all good. Lois got the affirmation that Clark loved her right at the end, and she reciprocated. Ahhh! So great! They proclaimed their love for each other and the world wasn't even ending and there wasn't anything catastrophic that just happened. When's the last time Clark did that? I don't remember. That seemed to be the only time he would tell Lana he loved her was when she was about to leave or the world was ending or she was about to get married to his arch nemesis... you know. Whatever would happen. But this time, he just said it. The only motivation being that he wanted her to know and had finally made up his mind to keep her. FOR GOOD. Sure, he saw that things would work out in the future so he can be confident about it, but whatever. Whatever needed to happen for them to get together is fine with me.

Aww, so Oliver really needed Clark? That makes sense... his only other friend and fellow superhero in the area. Clark was just too depressed. He was really down on himself at the beginning of the episode. I felt depressed just listening to him. Anyway, I loved what Oliver said in his interview at the end. "Stop trying to make me look terrible and understand my point of view!" I thought that it would be the scene when Clark decided to show up, but I thought it would be weird for Clark to randomly show up to the interview... but he did anyway. I don't know how he was able to be there or if anyone would be suspicious as to why Oliver kept looking at Clark and smirking... but we'll just ignore all of that just like Smallville wants us to.

I'm really glad Bug Boy didn't do anything stupid to ruin anything. That was probably one of my least favorite episodes ever. (Yes, the second episode of Smallville.) It was so gross. But, he apparently was very thankful for Clark for saving his life, or something. I'm okay with that. Oh man, I just can't get over how much Smallville suddenly changed my attitude towards the show. Everything was looking so terrible and stupid, and now it's so fantastic! SO FANTASTIC! I'm a little excited, can you tell?

Oh, and I was right, Lois is TOTALLY how Clark could learn how to fly. I know, my theory was entirely unique and original and nobody else could have thought of it. And I guessed it right. Right when Clark could finally put everything behind him and just focus on his happiness and purpose in life with Lois he just floated away in happiness. Now, I really hope they start the next episode with that dancing scene. How on earth would they explain the ending of that scene? Clark just floats back down without noticing that he was floating and then Lois goes home? LAME. They better start the next episode there with Clark and Lois simultaneously realizing that he is flying and then it'll be the perfect segway for Clark to tell Lois everything and for him to finally have the satisfaction knowing that he can now fly. SO PERFECT.

So why did Clark decide to wear his new Blur outfit at the cemetery when he was talking to his Dad? That just seems risky. What if Lois had happened to walk by and see him wearing that? Dead giveaway. Though, yet again, I must admit that it looks AWESOME. I want to see him wearing it while he's actually doing Blur stuff.

Yet again, I think this is where the rambling will end because it is the only thing stopping me from going and seeing the next one! Goodness, keep the fuzzies coming Smallville!
