Smallville Ramblings

10.5 - Isis

CLARK FINALLY TOLD LOIS FOR SURE! It's about time, Clark! Seriously! "What took you so long?" That's what everyone is thinking, Lois! At least he finally did it. I was getting really nervous that things would just be stupid after Clark had decided to go tell her only for her to be taken over by an ancient Egyptian goddess and fly away from him. (Which was actually pretty funny, by the way. I laughed out loud when she zipped away from him.) But, what else would you expect from Smallville? Of course Lois needed to be possessed this episode. It had been too long since she's been possessed by someone. Oh wait, no it hasn't. She was possessed back in Escape by some man killer near the end of last season. Oh well... he ended up telling her in the end anyway. :) YAY!

Did anything else important happen in this episode? OH! Tess is now a part of the Justice League (Taking Chloe's place? Weird.) and is finally experiencing some love! Little Alexander is back and has become somewhat like a son to Tess. As weird as it is that a young version of Lex is now a surrogate son to his replacement... it's really cute. She seems to have gotten the idea that love could actually make Lex a good kid rather than going through some sort of stupid therapy. Imagine that. It's not like Lex has ever said anything about wanting love from his dad before. But, either way, it's fun. I'm still wondering how Lex is going to come back later. He's got to come back as the Michael Rosenbaum we all know and love. It just wouldn't be the same if the Lex that Clark conquered wasn't him. It surely won't be little Alexander. Though, he is growing up quite fast. He grew some three inches or so in a week? That's insane. But, it's got to be the same Lex that has all the same memories with Clark. Hmph. I hope we see him soon. I still want that screen time between him and Tess. It'll be fun, I promise.

I absolutely LOVED it when Cat came to tell Tess that she had discovered the Blur's identity to be Lois and Tess just laughed in her face. That's the response I think all of us would have done. OF COURSE Lois Lane isn't Superman. That's just the most ridiculous thing ever. Granted, Cat had some good reason to believe it to be Lois, but still. It was absolutely hilarious. It was also rather convenient that Tess was able to cover for Clark and Lois and that Clark could destroy Cat's phone to cover up for Lois. It wasn't convenient that Lois had to get stabbed with a pen, though. Ouch! At least Clark could go and fix her up and... TELL HER HIS SECRET. *sighs* Such good stuff.

Speaking of Cat--she's still here!! Why hasn't she died or left indefinitely yet? At least she did change desks... too bad they decided to shove it right next to Lois and Clark's desks! Gross! I hope that doesn't last too long because I really don't like her character. Though, it was kind of cute to see Cat defending her article about the growing squirrel population. Maybe we'll hear about that in a future episode. Rabid squirrels take over Metropolis and biting people to turn them into rapid zombies! It's basically been done before anyway. I wasn't so excited to see Cat advancing on Clark a bit. "Wouldn't our names look so good together on a byline?" Are you kidding? Cat Grant and Clark Kent? Well, their first names do both start with C... but goodness! Of course "Lois Lane and Clark Kent" sound so much better. Everyone knows that, you silly Cat Grant. I'm glad Clark is completely infatuated with Lois to not be distracted at all by Cat. I'm also glad that Lois is Lois and isn't afraid to insult Cat at any opportunity. I'll thoroughly enjoy all of those moments.

Oh, right. There was this whole storyline about a silly Egyptian god or whatnot that is willing to sacrifice the entire world for love. If you aren't willing to do that, well then, you obviously aren't actually in love. Infallible logic, I say. That is so stupid. You've got to have some priorities, and there's this thing called sacrifice. "If you aren't willing to destroy the entire world in order for you to live, well then you must not value your life." Okay, maybe that analogy isn't quite the same, but it's the same stupid logic. Way to make Clark rethink his relationship with Lois and his responsibilities to the world. "It's either Lois or the world, but it can't be both." Oh, we've heard this all before. OF COURSE he can do both. The future told him so. I must comment, the future looks like my ideal world for Superman. I've always wanted to see Clark finally be able to be open with Lois and be able to fulfill being Superman simultaneously (me and the rest of the world, right?) and it looks like it will actually be that way! Now that Lois and Clark can finally be open with each other about it all, it just means the rest of the season will be perfectly Clois-y! Right?? Of course! I know nothing can get in the way of their relationship. Though, this is the last season so things can't get too out of whack. It'll probably end with both of them being together or getting married and Clark accepting his destiny as Superman. And then I can imagine how perfect their lives will be together. It'll be blissful. I'll enjoy every minute of the rest of this season. Bring it!

Okay, my favorite moment in the episode besides Clark telling Lois his secret had to be when Clark went to talk with Oliver. "I'm telling Lois my secret." "Okay, that's officially the biggest news I've heard all day. Why now?" "I saw the future...recently." "Okay, now that's officially the biggest news I've heard all day. You know you sound crazy when you talk like that, right?" I really LOL'ed! Of course he sounds crazy! Almost everything that is said on Smallville sounds crazy! Oh Oliver, you are awesome. Now as far as the rest of that scene, I was glad to hear Clark say what some of us had been thinking. When Oliver told Lois his secret, that basically ended their relationship because Lois didn't want to share Oliver with the world. But, as Oliver pointed out, he wasn't meant to be with Lois, BUT CLARK IS. As I have said many times before in my ramblings. Ahh... it's so great to be right.

I must say that I'm really disappointed that nothing seemed to come from that floating moment last episode. How could neither of them notice that he was floating? I suppose they might have been a bit distracted and caught up in the moment of loving each other and being held close and whatnot... but it seems like at some point one of them would have opened their eyes or something. I guess we're supposed to assume that he slowly floated back down and they finally opened their eyes? How silly, Smallville. We've got to see a follow up of that sometime. When he'll want to fly later he'll realize that being around Lois is what gives him the confidence and focus he needs. Oh, I'm so looking forward to when he realizes that. It'll be so grand!

Alright, this is a sufficient amount of rambling, I'd say. On to the next episode! It'll be so full of great Clois moments, I just know it!
