6.11 - Justice
I had known that an episode in the middle of season 6 would be called "Justice" and that apparently there was something special about it, but I had no idea what it was about. Well, I guess just something about "justice." I don't know why the Justice League didn't cross my mind. Actually, it was really funny because about a day or two before I saw "Justice", I had rewatched "Run" where Clark first meets Bart. I got giddy when I saw Bart was back! I about flipped out when I saw Cyborg and Aquaman appear at Oliver's place. Wow! What an exciting episode! Though, didn't Superman start the Justice League? I guess Smallville isn't required to follow everything that was "supposed" to happen. Like, I don't think Lana had dark brown hair in the comics/movies. Didn't she had red hair? Or something? Smallville just wants to be unorthodox like that. It keeps the die-hard fans on their toes so they may think they know what's coming next, but--surprise! They don't. Mwhaha.
So, Lana is off to Paris shopping for a Wedding Dress with Nell? That's hilarious! I really laughed out loud when I heard Lex say that. We haven't seen Nell since season 1, I think. She moved away with her boyfriend, right? I didn't know that Lana even kept in touch with her. That's really, really funny. And it made it so Clark didn't have to deal with Lana telling him that she did in fact tell Lex yes. Though, I think he's accepted that to an extent already since he wished her well with Lex. Bleh, whatever. They didn't have to deal with that this episode! Hopefully that'll be next week. Or the week after... whatever. That's completely not what this episode is about. Why am I rambling about it? Maybe I'll just move on...
Oliver and Lois are reminding me a lot of Clark and Lana. Clark is always running off and not telling Lana the whole truth and it bothers her. Oliver is always going away on "business" and not telling Lois his whole Green Arrow thing and it bothers her! It made me sad to see them split up, but I couldn't help but get somewhat excited that maybe Clark could be a rebound for her. :D I am a Clois fan too... after all, that's the one relationship I can count on in the show that will work out in the end. We all know that Clark ends up with her eventually. So, when they finally get together we shouldn't have to worry too much about it not working! Or that's what we think... I don't know. I just want to see if Lois runs off to Clark in pain about Oliver. I've been rewatching the beginning of season 4 lately (like "Run") and I had forgotten how many hints the writers had to there being something between Clark and Lois! Clark actually opened up a little bit and started talking to Lois about Lana! So, that'd be cool if something was pursued with them. That's another little triangle in Smallville: Lana, Lois, and Clark. Lana did talk to Lois for a while about Clark and Lex. Lois seems to have some kind of inside-scoop on their feelings and such. Aww... that'd be so cool to them get together.
Did anyone notice that Bart's voice was a little lower and... raspier than it was before? That really doesn't relate to anything, but I was just thinking about that during the episode. It made me happy to see that he had changed because of Clark. I know that they kind of told you that at the end of "Run" after he returned the map to Lex, but it was nice to see them follow up on it. That makes me think of something else. When Lex had Bart in that cage, Lex commented that he had seen Bart before and that he had stolen from him. Did Lex actually ever see Bart in "Run?" I don't think he did! Maybe that's just a minor plothole. Oh, wait! Yes, he did! He arranged that thing with those dealers and they almost killed Bart until Clark came to the rescue. So, he did see Bart and see that he was the culprit. So, nevermind. That tangent was completely useless. I could go back and delete it, but I won't.
I liked the different outfits that Oliver had given his crew. I'd say that the Flash's attire was my favorite. Where does he come up with all of these costume ideas and who makes them for him? I doubt Oliver does it. Whoever this magic seamstress is must really question what Oliver does in his free time. So, the nicknames were fun. "Impulse" and "Boy Scout" were obviously the only "wrong" ones. I wonder how they are going to do that. Everyone knows that Bart is the Flash. I bet they'll change it sometime later. Though, Impulse seems to fit pretty well. Now that I think about it, I'm sure that Superman has got to become Clark's nickname eventually. Come on. He's super, and he's a man! It's so obvious!
When that warehouse blew up and they had the shot of them walking away from it... awesome. That was so cool. When you think about it, it's completely unrealistic, but you can't deny how cool they all looked. How did they decide that Clark would stand in the middle? It reminds of what Dan Liebke wrote in his Smallville File for this episode: "And there's squabbling about the order, and who gets to be in the middle and how fast they should walk and so forth. But eventually they do it, and viewers everywhere cheer as the music triumphantly swells!" LOL! That's fantastic. It was also interesting to see that Bart ate a lot of food. I guess it makes sense. He does a lot of running, so he needs the energy to back it up. Oh, man... I can't wait for Clark to be in on all of this Justice League stuff. Something else that I thought about... what about that guy with the glowing eyes that saved Clark in Static? When are we going to see him again? He's got to join the league. I still have no idea who he is or what exactly his powers are or where he came from.
Oh yeah... and I was kind of wrong about Chloe thinking that Clark was the Green Arrow. I should have known better. Chloe is smarter than that! So, now she knows about the Green Arrow without the fault falling on Clark. I would love to be in Chloe's position right now! She gets to know everything! That's so cool. :) Another thing about Chloe. *sigh* She confirmed to Bart that she had a boyfriend, and I know she wasn't referring to Clark. Jimmy. She didn't say that in Subterranean. Maybe she was just emphasizing that either way she was taken. Gah! I'm in denial. You know, she can't be with Jimmy forever. I don't think he's quite her type. She's more for the superhero kind of boyfriend... and guess what! She happens to have a long time friend who is the superhero of superheros! It's perfect! Hey, I can dream, right? Oh, but that's right... I want Clark to end up with Lois. Oh, whatever. Just let him have a little something with Chloe for a moment. That's all I'm asking.
Lionel! Oh wow, Lionel. Lionel actually went out on a ledge and completely lied to Lex to protect Clark's secret. That's incredible. Lex's expression was priceless! You could tell that he was so confused as to why Lionel would be covering for Clark. Or, why his ongoing mission to find out what it is about Clark is yet again being ruined. Mwhahaha... oh! You know what else? Like I said before, I was watching season 4 and I saw that in "Jinx" we are first introduced to 33.1! I don't remember seeing that before! Lex has had this place for a long time! His evil side is getting stronger and stronger. Oh, the evil villain we all know and love is coming in full on! Bring it Lex! Bring it!
Wow, this turned out to be almost as long as Hydro! I think I get into this show too much. Oh well! Next Thursday is going to be fantastic again, I know it!
