Smallville Ramblings

8.06 - Prey

Basically this episode was a let down, and it made me mad at Clark for a lot of the time. We kind of learned of another power of Clark's. Apparently he can speed read and memorize really quickly. That's a really convenient power to have. Davis is a murderer... and he's causing some issues with Chloe and Jimmy. Oh noes! Here we go!

So where exactly is Lana? Seems like she could do something with Isis from afar. I guess that'd still be too close to Clark? Hm. I don't know. I'm glad that Chloe decided to start it up to try and help the meteor infected people feel better about themselves. She was able to handle herself very well. They didn't seem to know that she is/was a meteor "freak" and knows to an extent what it's like to be them. I guess since she can't really heal people anymore, she didn't want to mention it? That makes sense. They'd wonder how she could have lost it. She'd have to try and cover up something to cover Clark's secret... again. I guess it all makes sense. Though it is rather disappointing that one of them turned out to be kind of evil. Or at least evil wannabe. He wanted some fame for his power and just started to not care anymore. It made Davis feel better about himself... but it doesn't make much sense. He's a shadow boy or something. How does that make him able to crush people's bones and whatnot? He seemed rather proud of himself near the end there. I guess I should be getting worried that it seems like Tess is making her own little army of young meteor freaks. I'm sure we'll see them later fighting the Justice League. Oh boy, I'm excited. :)

Mr. Martian Oreo Man! We see him again! We just can't get rid of him. I don't know what to think about him. He's kind of just there to fill the gaps. Detective... interesting. At least he's able to help cover up Clark's dumb mistakes. I'm surprised more people haven't commented on the fact that this person just appears seemingly out of nowhere in places. That and his "jump" to the top of that building which looked very close to flying... man, I'm telling you. He's gonna be flying by the end of the season. Maybe if we get Kara back eventually she can help him out. I surely hope so. Maybe even Martha can pop back up and a reincarnated Jonathan... okay, I'll try to be realistic. Oh right, this Oreo Martian Man. Maybe we'll get some explanation for the Oreos now that he seems to be somewhat back. I'd really like to know. Please! Please!

Clark really bothered me. He was acting like a jerk for so much of the episode. "Yeah, it's all my fault. It's all my responsibility to save everyone... blah blah blah." Then he went to the extent to freakin' go against Chloe's request and take the names anyway. That might've been what pushed Shadow boy over the edge to claim the murders. Just maybe. I blame Clark for Shadow boy turning to the dark side. Though, his obsession with saving people and whatnot did remind me a lot of Lois. Honestly! She gets all of herself involved in a story no matter what the cost. They are just so alike without knowing it! That, and when Lois hugs Clark she doesn't have to stand on her tippy toes to get her chin over his should. It just fits. Perfect!

So Jimmy is following this supposed "Good Samaritan" guy around town. That's kind of funny. Maybe he'll be Good Samaritan man instead of Superman! Yeah Jephthah, that makes so much sense, and it's just oh so catchy! *ahem* You never know, man. He is being rather reckless, though. Just superspeeding in and leaving the scene so everyone is really confused as to what happened. "Oh, I just got saved and the situation seems pretty rectified. Yay!" That little kid... why were those boys going after him anyway? Why would they steal money from him in a dark alley at night and then beat him up for it? They should just rob a bank or something. I guess the kid ran away after Clark knocked those guys off their feet? The kid just sort of stood there and smiled. "Yay, now I'm suddenly safe." Yeah, sure.

Okay, back to Clark being an idiot. When he was confronting Davis about his suspisions... I was so freaking mad at him! He's really a good guy! You know Clark, Chloe was able to hear his secret and what was really happening. You know how she did it? By being nice to him and actually listening and being supportive. Not being all accusatory and stern about everything ever. Davis brought up a really good point too, Clark. You are always there at the scene really quickly. Always. Maybe you're the killer, Clark. Maybe!! Okay, maybe not... at least Clark got his act together by the end of the episode. I hate it when he's acting dumb.

I was very disappointed to not see Lois in this episode. :( But, the good news is that from her not being in it this episode, she's bound to be in it next episode! Right? Yes! It must be true! Now I'm definitely looking forward to some more wonderfully fantastic Clois moments. :) Oh boy, I just love this show too much. It's fun to be this excited about a relationship that's not Clark and Lana. I never thought I'd say that. Ha!

Speaking of relationships, I'm getting a little worried about Chloe and Jimmy. There is something going on between Davis and Chloe and Davis doesn't seem to interested in holding himself back. "Was there more to you helping me?" Chloe, ditch your fiance and be with me! OH! I just remembered! So everything just seems to easy with Davis... just so right. She felt that way about one other person... not Jimmy... of course it had to be Clark! Aww, that's kind of sad, actually. It makes me wonder if she's really hiding all of those feelings for Clark and for Davis for Jimmy. I'm so confused, Chloe. How are you feeling? Who do you really love? You'd think I'd know the answer since she had a freakin' lie detector test where they asked if she was in love with anyone else and she answered yes successfully without it going off. But, no. Even that won't convince me. Silly Brainiac ability clouding everything up for me. It makes me wonder if that ability is going to backfire on her sometime or like make her evil slowly. I don't know. I don't see that starting to happen slowly or anything. I surely hope not. Chloe is too awesome for that to happen. Too awesome I say!

I think that's all I have for this episode. Let's hope there's some good Cloisness in the next one! Yay! :)
