Smallville Ramblings

10.20 - Prophecy

GAHHH! I can't believe they did that to me! How could they make Lois decide not to marry Clark in the second-to-last episode in the entire series??? I wanted them to get married this episode, not freakin' BREAK UP! I'm so angry! Why? WHY?? Smallville?? You just had to put more drama in Clark and Lois's relationship before the series ended, didn't you? Well, luckily the season finale is two hours long. That's plenty of time for Lois to realize what an IDIOT she was at the end of this episode. The finale better open with Lois confronting Clark and saying, "Just kidding! Ha ha, I'm so funny. Why would I want us to break up now? That's ridiculous. Come on, let's go get married." "Alright!" Then they'll go hand in hand to the church. I just know it.

I guess they figured Lois needed to get Clark's powers at least once in the series. At least she didn't get all power hungry like Lana did. No, instead it convinced her that Clark is an awesome dude. SO awesome that she couldn't marry him. WHAT FANTASTIC LOGIC, LOIS. When she got Clark's powers she obviously got his stupidity as well. Seriously, when Toy Man threatened Clark she didn't hesitate at all in putting the device on that she KNEW would make them control her. WHILE SHE HAS POWERS. What did she think he was going to do with her? Of course he would send her to do his bidding. She really didn't think that through. "Obviously I should just do what the crazy man says to protect Clark. He'll keep his word." STUPID. STUPID LOIS. So stupid. Then the stupidity lingered long enough for her to tell Clark she couldn't marry him. Unbelievable. I was in shock in the last couple minutes of the episode. "NO! They can't do what I think they're going to do! NOO! THEY DID! WHY??" Can I stop talking about how upset I am? No, I can't. Not until I see them get back together. There's no way that they would end the series with them apart. They'll get back together by the end of the finale. They better be married by the end as well. To build up to it for so long only to hint at it would be so incredibly lame. SO LAME.

I suppose other things happened in this episode. Oliver went off to find the Bow of Orion, which apparently is literally a bow. Though, his and Kara's efforts were apparently all for nothing since the bow is now destroyed. Hey, Kara. She was back this episode. That was a nice little surprise. Aww... and then she left. That didn't make any sense to me. "You have two choices: leave Earth since you obviously don't belong in this time, or stay here and put the world at risk." What the heck? How would her staying in that time with Clark threaten the future? How would having Supergirl nearby make the world explode? Well, the good news is that she just used the Legion ring to go to the future (I presume). We could easily see her come back in the finale to help out. People come back from the future to help Clark using the Legion ring all the time. No biggie.

Right, the Bow of Orion. Apparently Oliver just helped Darkseid find and destroy it. Good one. Oliver is now apparently under their control as well. That's awesome. Another problem that needs to be fixed next episode. Where is Chloe? Isn't she missing Oliver just a little bit? Isn't he missing her? He was gone for three weeks in the Phantom Zone, went on a scavenger hunt, and now is being controlled by darkness. He can't be controlled by the darkness! He and Chloe need to show up to Clark and Lois's wedding that just has to happen! And Lana needs to pop up! They did mention her name this episode. "Oh Lois, don't you remember Lana and Clark? They were so cute together only to break up. You are obviously going to break up as well. In fact, you should just break up with Clark before it happens inevitably in the future." DUMB. The good news about them mentioning Lana is that that usually means she'll show up soon. It's got to, right? How could she miss Clark's wedding? I won't give up hope. It'll happen. Even if it doesn't happen, the rest of the world thinks it's going to happen. Lana probably knows when it is and she'd have to show up. Maybe she made a clever little lead box that she could walk around in. That'd be nice and discrete.

Speaking of people that need to pop up, when is Lex going to show his face again? Dr. Fate said that Clark will overcome him. Conner certainly wasn't the Lex that Dr. Fate was referring to. The REAL Lex needs to show his face, and Smallville only has one more episode to make that happen. I want Michael Rosenbaum! He must have made time to show up for one episode! The finale! He better. He BETTER! He'll show up thinking he's crashing a wedding only to find out that Lois already crashed it for him. How nice of her. If Lois broke off the wedding, does that mean that she won't live with Clark anymore? That's not exactly easy to suddenly change. Maybe she'll be in the Talon next episode. You know, Clark could just move all her stuff out in a jiffy. That'd be nice of him. "No wedding. Alright, let me help you move out." *WHOOSH* "Done." How sad. Lois must realize her stupidity. She must. MUST!!

So what are all the things that need fixing by next episode? Lionel will have to show his face. Along with Lana and Lex. Darkseid will have to be taken care of. Oliver will need to be un-darkified. Clark and Lois need to get back together and get married. Chloe should show her face and get back with Oliver. It'd be nice if Martha showed her face for Clark and Lois's scheduled wedding. Maybe Jonathan will make some sort of appearance from Earth-2 or the dead. Heck, they brought him back somehow in the premiere, they could do it again. We'd all prefer the real Jonathan anyway. Oh, and Perry White. They should hint towards him running the Daily Planet, and NOT marrying Martha. That'd be awesome. I'd really like to see Bart one last time. It seems like it's been forever since we've seen him. I was going to mention Pete (I suppose I just did), but we'd all be okay if Pete didn't come back. We haven't seen the suicide squad in a while. Maybe they'll show up and help fight Darkseid. They keep hinting towards Batman, too. Maybe we'll see some more random superheroes. Meh... probably not. It'd feel a little weird to see Batman on Smallville. Perhaps Clark Luthor from Earth-2 will show up and help? Nah... it seems appropriate for them to leave Earth-2 alone at this point. Clark Luthor will probably change his ways and be good on their world, and that's the end of it. You know, that's a pretty long list of things I want to see/they need to fix. Two hours is a long episode, but I don't know how much of that they'll be able to fit in. I guess we'll see!

I don't understand why Clark decided to turn the fortress off at the end. What kind of logic is that? "I'm obviously at the point in my life where I don't need anyone's help. So, goodbye." You could keep the fortress up and alive and just not go to it very often. You already don't. You're probably going to go back to the fortress and beg for forgiveness. "I'm sorry! Please let me go back in time so I won't ask your permission to marry Lois! I need her back so we can get married!" "Yeah, sure. No problem." Seriously, Clark. You make the stupidest decisions. Speaking of Jor-El, apparently this Darkseid business is for Clark to face? With Lois leaving him he'll be more vulnerable than ever! Without her, he's prone to the darkness, right? Yes, of course he is! Oh, the plan is perfect! Lois will hear about the darkness being a big problem and realize that Clark could be overtaken by it without her by his side. Then she'll realize that her leaving isn't good for him, but that she is exactly what he needs to be who he is destined to be! Of course! Oh, Smallville. I've got you figured out.

How sad. There's only one more rambling left to write after this one. One more new episode of Smallville for me to see. After this, I'll have seen all of Smallville and rambled about almost half of it. I don't know if that's something to be proud of or not... but either way, I shall watch the finale to see how it all ends up. I trust Smallville to make it a good ending. Bring it on.
