7.19 - Quest
Holy cravitz! So, Lex is getting closer and closer to solving this whole thing. At the end of the episode, I was half-expecting Clark to suddenly rush in there and be like, "What is thy bidding, my master?" Then Lex smirks and... END EPISODE. Yeah, but no. Instead it's a globe that pops up that shows Lex a place in the world. I wasn't sure what it was at first, but it was most definitely Antarctica. It was totally showing Lex where the fortress is. What the heck??
So apparently Lex is going to find the fortress... and then what? From there he can find a way to control Clark? I really don't know what to expect next episode. Maybe that little part in Lex that gets him to do good things will come out and make him realize that he's about to destroy his ex-best friend's life and ruin the planet... or something. I'll just ignore the fact that he killed little Alexander a while back in his fireplace. Maybe seeing Clark being nice will somehow bring him back. I don't know.
What's going to happen to Lana?? Holy cravitz! We need her to get better, and quick! The season finale is the only episode left! I can really see them just letting her be the way she is and letting us all die in depression. Ugh... they've got to bring her back. That's just an utterly depressing place to be in. Not to mention it makes Clark all crazy. Stupid Brainiac... ruining everything ever. There's got to be something that fixes her. It would be extremely lame to end Smallville with Lana in her dumb catatonic state. Seriously... lame. If Lana is going to be like that, the least Smallville could do is get Clark to hook up with Chloe or Lois. They've been hinting at Clois lately... that'd be pretty cool if something came of that. Agh, but we all know Clark would never do anything with Lana in this dumb state. This is why her whole situation is just stupid. COME BACK LANA!
So, to get away from the depressing Lana topic, let's move onto the fact that Clark and Lex were carved in this episode. First of all, ouch on steroids. It was gross to hear and imagine when we know that they are sticking a knive in their chest. Speaking of stabbing people, how does Lex do it? He was stabbed in the side, and got a nice little sign carved on his chest, but he can somehow fight this Teague guy like he's completely healthy? No, I'm not seeing it. I'm thinking that it would've caused his chest scar to open up and start bleeding profusely or something. Gruesome? Yes. Gorey? Extremely. More realistic? Yes! Oh well. I'll just go with the old excuse of Lex being able to heal himself with that high white cell blood count... or something. Yes, that's the best excuse of any. I mean, if he can simply go into a coma from a bullet in the head, surely a stab in the chest is a walk in the park.
Why did Lionel set all this stuff up for Lex to know? It seems like he almost wanted Lex to find it and be able to control the Traveler if he was to croak. I don't know... but... how would he know about that song in the first place? He didn't know what was inside of the safe, did he? He wanted to get to it! Well, perhaps he knew what was in there and how to solve it, but just needed to actually get to it to get where he wanted. (I think that sentence made sense.) Speaking of Lionel, I'm still thinking that he's going to come back to life somehow. I'm sure we haven't seen the end of him. That'd just be so utterly depressing. Almost more depressing than Lana being all catatonically non-existent.
Was anyone else completely distracted by the fact that the Doctor from Voyager was Mr. Teague? I sure was. He's the freaking Doctor to me and always will be. They could have given him a nice toupee to hide it a little bit. Eh... maybe not. He's supposed to be kind of old. Though, they never really explained the fact that he was supposed to be dead. Lionel killed him, right? All he said was that he went into hiding because of Lionel. Did they just assume from not being able to find him that he was dead? I don't know. Kind of dumb. I think they just needed somebody who knew about Veritas to torture Clark like that and Mr. Teague was the only guy left. Oh well. He did a good job with the role.
It was kind of funny when Jimmy came up to Chloe and was telling her all about these cave paintings. "Yeah, I think Clark did a report on them in high school..." Why didn't they find out what Jimmy found out about that painting of the Namaan and Sageeth facing off until now? It sure seems like that's something Clark would have found when he was looking into everything. Oh well... the timing was right in this episode. Not back then. That's why Clark didn't find it. Of course. I'm not sure what use that does to Lex to know that, though. "So if I'm Sageeth, I'm going to have to battle this guy from another planet with all these abilities. Awesome." Like he knows about Kryptonite. If they do face off, I'm not sure how Lex would win. I guess he'd be bound to find out about the Kryptonite. You know, when I think about it I'm pretty sure Clark is going to die next episode. And so will Lex, Chloe, Lana (for real), Lois, and Jimmy. And probably a couple other insignificant characters that nobody cares about. Then they'll all come back to life somehow in their own special way for the season 8 premeire. Yes, I've got it all figured out.
So, I think this'll do for Quest's rambling. On to the season finale!
