6.07 - Rage
I felt warm fuzzies after watching this episode. I don't think we've ever had a Thanksgiving Smallville episode. I'm liking Oliver Queen's character more and more each episode. I can see why Lois is falling for him, even if he is a druggie. Well, at least for a moment during this episode. This reminded me a little bit of the episodes where Clark is on red Kryptonite or Splinter, but with a different Superhero. Heh, that reminds me (somehow) of how much Clark got slammed by Oliver! Oliver blatantly told him that he doesn't worry about anything except keeping his secret hidden. Burn, Oliver. Burn. I loved Clark's response, though. "You know that isn't true." I guess Clark has had a lot of experience with people saying things like that to him. Hmm, I also thought that the beginning of this episode was a little awkward. I didn't really want to see Lois and Oliver have sex to start off an episode. Good thing those guys decided to mug those people to distract Oliver. Oh, and then Oliver got shot! That scene reminded me so much of Hidden when Clark got shot. So, naturally, I thought that Oliver was going to die. The whole time during the credits and commercials I was wondering how Clark was going to suddenly show up and save Oliver's life. But apparently I was wrong in that assumption. Mr. Queen had found some stuff to inject into himself to heal! That's very interesting. Very interesting indeed.
Lionel and Martha. I'm proud of Martha standing up to Lionel and telling the truth. There is something between them, and she doesn't understand it, but she's not ready to pursue it. YAY! Go Martha! That makes me feel better about their relationship. I think Clark helped her realize that she doesn't want anyone in their family before completely healing from Jonathan's death. I almost freaked when I saw them get close to kissing. The tension was killing me! All these familiar thoughts and feelings from when Lex and Lana were first starting were all coming back to me. I don't think I'm ready for two relationships that I don't like in Smallville. I can deal with one. Though, at least that relationship seems to be breaking up...
Lana needs a paragraph to herself. Pregnant. Pregnant, huh? It's funny how the writers are able to read my mind so well and do everything that I don't want to happen. Jonathan dying. Breaking up Clark and Lana on bad terms. Lex and Lana becoming a couple. Tension between Martha and Lionel. Chloe geting a boyfriend right when Clark is open and realizing that he has feelings for Chloe. And now this. Lana is pregnant with Lex's baby. (Or at least I assume) Wouldn't that be an odd twist if it was Clark's baby? HAHA! Because that's possible and everything. That was kind of more than 9 months ago, and Lana doesn't have a baby right now. Anyhow, that was a small tangent. I thought of Lana being pregnant when she first fainted, but then when she went to the doctor and talked about headaches, I thought that she had a brain tumor or something and I was actually relieved that it was something like that and not pregnancy. Oh how wrong I was. But at least she was upset about it. I mean, it's sad that she's upset about having a child, but it's good that she doesn't like it being Lex's kid. I'm almost positive she'd be happier if it was Clark's. Which just shows who she really cares about more. You know, Lana, if you don't want to have a baby with Lex then maybe you shouldn't have sex with him. That's a novel idea. I just can't believe it. What ever happened to sweet and innocent Lana? Where did she go?? Oh well. This certainly does add a whole new twist to the show. How will Clark react? So many questions.
There were so many mixed feelings at the end of the episode. I did like the juxtaposition between Lex and Lana's Thanksgiving and the Kent's Thanksgiving. Lex and Lana's Thanksgiving just looked so... superficial. They were at opposite ends of the table! Not to mention they were all alone. What a boring Thanksgiving. The Kent's would have been so much more fun. Speaking of the Kent's Thanksgiving, I did cry a bit at the end when Clark said what he was thankful for. Though, didn't he say that it was a tradition for everyone to say what they were thankful for? Uhh... he was the only one who said anything. I guess Clark considers himself as everyone. Heh, just kidding. It was sad to see all these couples and Clark all alone. Lois was with Oliver, Chloe got a text message from Jimmy saying that he missed her, Martha kind of has Lionel, and Lex with Lana. And Clark is just sitting at the table all alone. Just like the end of Wither where it showed everyone ever with someone and Clark was up in his loft all alone. How sad. Eventually Clark has got to hook up with somebody. We'll see. It's just sad to see him so alone.
Whatever happened to his training he was going to take from Jor-El? I guess we'll find out more next week! Or possibly the week after that! We'll just have to wait and see. *grabs some popcorn*
