6.05 - Reunion
This episode reminded me of Lineage in season 2 where you get to go back and view all of these scenes from the past. I overall enjoyed it. :) Seeing Lex as a teenager was very interesting as well. We've seen him as an 8 year-old, a pre-teen-ish age, and now as a teenager. You can certainly see how he's developed into who he is today. Holy cravitz he is becoming more and more evil each episode. It was interesting to see how Lex was being bullied by Oliver, and now Oliver is turning towards good and Lex is becoming progessively more evil. When Oliver said to Lex that he regreted how he treated Lex at Excelsior, Lex shot back with his, "And I regret ever wanting to be friends with someone like you." Or something to that effect. Oh, slam Lex! I also noticed that he was careful to say something like that while Lana was absent. He seems to put on an act for her, either that or he is trying to be good around her, but it just seeps out around everyone else. I think that makes sense. I think there is a small part in him that wants to be good. Maybe. But it's shrinking, and it's bringing Lana down as well. *sigh* You know, it might actually be fun to see Lana be all evil like Lex, so that isn't all bad. We'll see where they take this.
It was a little odd that Lex kind of spazzed onto Duncan and basically killed him. I can understand why, and it's very sad when you think about it how he had all that anger built up and he just exploded... but at first it felt a little odd. Actually, it reminded me a lot of that one episode where Lex beats that cop's car for giving him a parking ticket. Lex has had so much psychological damage, it's so sad. It's no wonder that he becomes a SuperVillain.
Okay, anyhow. I don't think I've really talked about the episode itself that much. This always happens. Hey, at least it's a ramble, right? RIGHT? *looks up* Yup, Smallville Ramblings. Good times. Okay, so I thought that it was a little lame that they have another person who can move objects with their mind. I guess this is a little different since I think the idea behind this episode was that he was projecting his spirit to those other places and moving those objects to hurt those people. But it still includes people moving objects with their mind. It didn't really make that much sense that he would take revenge. I mean, of course I can see why he would be mad at his friends since they basically ruined his life, but he seemed to be such a nice guy. I suppose being brain dead for a while could change that. Actually, now that I type this out it makes more sense that he would want revenge, so nevermind.
It was very convenient that Oliver Queen decided to make an EMP arrow. An EMP arrow... very convenient indeed. I know that that's the Green Arrow's specialty--coming up with the strangest arrows ever to use in a fight. So it doesn't seem like it'd be that far of a stretch. Whatever, it was just kind of funny. It didn't suddenly make the episode terrible. Smallville does things like that quite a bit, so it makes me laugh. Teehee!
I love Lois. She is the only girl that really stands up to Clark! I loved it in the hospital when Clark said that he didn't want her to end up in the hospital like Lana, so she better stay out of it, or something. And she just blatanly tells him that she could man up and find information on the article herself. Ha! It's no wonder that she ends up with Clark in the long run. Awww, as much as I want Clark to hook up with Chloe, it's cute to see him with Lois too. That'll have to come later since she seems to be with Mr. Queen at the moment. Oh, and Lois! I loved Lois even more with her response to Clark saying that sometimes you can to keep secrets to protect the people you love. "That's totally retarded." Then she just walks away to leave Clark there stunned. Ha! Lois is awesome.
Oh! The ending! Lionel is most definitely coming back to his old self. That look on his face when Lex asked for the data on the project that Lionel was working on with Duncan just showed how proud he was of Lex. I wouldn't think that a normal parent would want a child to want to study their dead former best friend's brain research. I don't think I phrased that right, but I think you know what I mean. Lex is... he... evil. He had that bad dream and flat out lies to Lana about "not remembering" what happened. Then he says that maybe his "friend" who was brutally killed might have had what was coming to him. Lana seemed to be a little scared of him! Oohhh... LANA! Run for you life! Do you see how evil Lex is?? Oh, no. She is blinded by her feelings. Those stupid feelings. Grr... Oh! Speaking of Lana. That scene in the hospital where Lex didn't allow Clark to see Lana was awesome. Clark tried to put Lex down by saying that Lana seemed to be getting hurt around Lex, and I immediately thought that same thing that Lex did. Uhh... Clark! You kind of caused Lana to get hurt all the time. Wasn't that the reason why you broke up with Lana in the first place, Clark? Because you hurt her constantly and you wanted her to be with someone who could make her happy?? Yes. I thought that was the reason. Though, I would like to see how the scene would have gone between Clark and Lana if Clark was able to get in the hospital room to check up on Lana. Very intersting indeed.
Wow, this has been kind of long. So much rambling! I enjoyed this episode. It was a nice treat. I can't wait for next Thursday's episode!
