Smallville Ramblings

9.21 - Salvation

GAHHH!! This is one of the best season finale endings EVER! Well, maybe not ever... but it's definitely better than I expected. I was all ready thinking it would end with Clark being sucked up into this alternate world and us wondering how on earth he would get out and I was thinking about how they would probably make him come back to Earth because of some silly trap door his father left for him like in the Phantom Zone... and then Zod whips out a blue kryptonite dagger (I have no idea how he knew that blue kryptonite existed or made a knife out of it...) and that means they are no longer kryptonian (or something) and thus not sucked into this alternate world and they start fighting each other. (Longest sentence ever.) And then Zod STABS Clark and he starts falling to his death as Zod is being taken to this alternate world! RIGHT AFTER HE BASICALLY TOLD LOIS HIS SECRET. *takes a deep breath* Here we go.

I was ready to punch Clark in the face when he told Lois he had "something to tell her" and then he goes off about how he knows she's the one. LAME-O. And Lois thought the same thing. "Well, thanks for that Clark. I especially liked the part about how my eyes sparked, but YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY STILL HIDING SOMETHING HUGE FROM ME. Thanks for nothing, Clark. I'm going to ruin everything by taking the 'book' in your pocket and giving it to the fake Blur." Nice one, Lois. Though, she had no idea. What else did she have to believe but that Zod was the Blur? I can't quite get past the fact that Zod has an obvious accent that I don't think the voice changer device could hide adequately. Though, she caught on from touching his hand and realizing that Zod's scrawny fingers weren't the same as Clark's muscular, loving hands. I suppose I can't be too mad at Clark for not wanting to tell Lois. He was just trying to make it so he didn't crush her by suddenly leaving. Well, instead you just crushed her by lying. Same same. Though, he did kiss her and tell her later. YAY! YAY! YAY! Let's make a new paragraph for that.

I think this was a much better way for Clark to tell Lois his secret. By simply grabbing her hand and making out with her. *sighs blissfully* IT'S ABOUT TIME. You know what this means, right? Next season will be so full of fantastic Cloisness and I will enjoy every minute of it. I'm just going to assume that as Clark is falling to his death he will simply pull out the dagger and toss it aside so he heals before he hits the ground. You know these buildings in Smallville are super tall and he'll probably fall for a good 15-20 seconds before hitting the ground. Like in Action. Or better yet, he'll toss the dagger aside, heal, and then FLY away! All the other Kandorians flew without a problem! It's his time to fly, for sure. So, after he flies to safety, he'll fly away and go to Lois and then they'll be able to discuss everything openly and promptly get married. I mean, why not?

I was a little surprised to see that Lois had passed out so quickly. Zod just tossed her into the phone booth and she only hit it slightly with her elbow. That made her unconscious long enough for Clark to set her down without her seeing his face? We all know that Lois is stronger than that. But, I'm not too upset because she figured out it was Clark right after that. The only disappointing part about that kiss was how dark it was! You could barely see them going at it! Oh well, I'll get over it. Now, I'm hoping Smallville doesn't get all stupid on me and next season when she confronts Clark about being the Blur that he'll deny it. I don't think she ever actually opened her eyes while they were kissing so Clark might be stupid and pretend like it wasn't him. How could she prove it? No, I don't think Smallville would stoop to that level. I think he must have accepted that Lois would just know. As far as he was concerned he was about to leave. It wouldn't matter too much, right? Well, WRONG! He's going to pull out this dagger and heal himself, and then stay on Earth and live happily ever after with Lois. IT WILL BE PERFECT.

Cloaked knitting lady waiting for Tess to die... Lex? No, that doesn't make much sense. Her hips had far too much flab and her hands looked a little too old for Lex. But, you never know. Or perhaps it's some other new villain that we'll have to deal with next season. Maybe they'll bring Tess back to life. I really don't want her to die. She was turning into a good guy and was doing a pretty good job protecting Clark's secret. She had good intentions. Though, I must admit, with it looking like Lex will be back next season (Clark's vision and everything) it does make a little sense that he would sort of replace her. She replaced him, after all. It would be fun to have both of them around, though. I will hope for her survival.

Speaking of Clark's vision, I don't quite get it. Since when did Clark have random dreams of the future? It certainly seemed like it was pretty accurate and Clark felt like he had reason to believe it completely. Was it some effect from Dr. Fate? Did he just imagine up what the future would be like from what Dr. Fate told him? That doesn't make as much sense to me either because I don't remember Dr. Fate being that specific. Oh well. It was fun to see the gift from his mom. Was it really tights, though? Was it really the outfit that we all know or something more like what Oliver makes for his crew? It was red, blue, and yellow at least. Much better than the silly black business Clark is wearing now. Why is he still wearing all black? He doesn't seem evil or anything. I guess it's so he can be more discrete and hide in the shadows easier. That almost makes sense.

Aww, it was so sweet to see Oliver and Chloe tell each other, "I love you!" I am completely confused as to what got Oliver, though. We are all of course thinking that it's the Kandorians and then Oliver confuses us all by saying, "They're not Kandorian!" And then--nothing. He's dead or alive and all we know is that it's not who would be most obvious. Wonderful. I think he's most likely alive. I don't know why their dots came up red, but they are obviously supposed to look like bad guys. Maybe they aren't. Well, they probably are. Maybe they are somehow linked to Lex! Yes, I've figured it all out. Lex is really involved with this entire episode. He's captured Oliver for some reason (maybe he has a grudge for Oliver killing him?) and now is going to go after Clark. Yes... Lex Luthor going after Superman. That seems like a reasonable enough storyline for the final season of Smallville. I love it when I'm right.

Zod was pretty stupid on that rooftop. I guess he just reacted to Clark's accusation without thinking about the fact that everyone on the roof that he's lying to has super hearing. Oops. Way to go. It was rather convenient, though. I was a little afraid they were going to just jump on him like vultures and kill him right there on the roof (I'm not sure how, though), but instead they just followed Clark's idea to take them to another world. Good for them. Lucky for Clark, it doesn't look like he'll be going with them. YAY! It's going to work out! As long as Clark doesn't die, that is. But we all know he won't. Or, if he does, he'll be brought back to life. It's all happened before.

I think this will be all for this rambling. I don't have to wait all summer to see the premeire! Yay for being behind!
