9.01 - Savior
Zod again! Lois is back but... confused, and yet seems to be remembering what she did when she went into the future, Clark is being the stupidest he's ever been, Chloe I just feel bad for, and I have no idea what's going on with Ollie and the crew. Oh boy, Smallville you just keep it coming.
Clark, what the heck are you doing? First of all, why did he suddenly decide that he should start wearing black? He's the Red-Blue Blur. I can understand having the symbol on his chest to "remind him" where he came from or whatever he said, but black? What kind of symbol of hope is black? And he thinks that leaving his sign everywhere is now appropriate? I guess he's telling people that he's not of this world, or wanting to associate that sign with him? It's so Zorro-esque. Only Zorro can pull that off. He's also putting his graffiti all over the city. If he helps people long enough his symbol will cover every wall. Not something I'd want to see everywhere. I'm kind of changing my opinion of Jor-El. Something is obviously going wrong with Clark. He's going to cause the destruction of the world in a year, according to that one girl. I don't know how, but bad things will happen. Surely Jor-El could see that coming from the harshness Clark is obtaining. But he is only telling him to cut his ties with Lois and the rest of humanity so he can focus. Maybe it's his want for Lois that will cause the problems. He'll ignore other people because of her or something. He'll not finish his training and use it to... I don't know.
Lois was starting to worry me a little bit. She looked for Oliver to help her, and I was afraid some old sparks might come up, but no. Thankfully. Then there's this new reporter or whatever obviously flirting with Lois, but thankfully she's too infatuated with Clark and the Red-Blue Blur to give in to that rubbish. Yay! I was kind of happy and sad when Chloe found out that Clark had been calling and confiding in Lois. It was a slight flashback to season 1 or 2 with her and Lana. But, I think she got over it pretty quickly since Chloe has been Clark's biggest confidant for the past 4 or 5 years.
So Tess was smart enough to unleash an entire Kryptonian army from that "alien orb"... somehow. And for some reason Zod is only "Major Zod" instead of "General Zod." It's like this orb saved their society at one point in history. I know Zod is the nemesis and a "bad guy" but it makes me think that since he's still young he might have some salvageable "good" inside of him that Clark will want to save. Though... I don't know. He is Zod, and Clark already knows that Zod is a bad guy. I don't know. I was impressed with how Tess could talk with him and pretty much save herself. It seems like the future will have them at Clark's mercy. That one girl that came back with Lois was trying to kill Clark, and she was in that room with Zod. I'm kind of assuming that we'll get our questions answered next episode, but most of the time I say that I end up being wrong. We'll see.
Why did Dr. Hamilton have Ollie's phone? Did he take it from him, or find it? I kind of assume that he found it. Ollie wanted to be cut off from the rest of the world and got rid of it. Why? I guess he wasn't feeling very confident in his group's success and just kind of... left. Like the rest of them. They thought they were right (which they kind of were) and everything blew up in their faces. They should really just blame Clark for all of it. That's what I usually do, and I'm usually right. I'm assuming he'll get himself back together again and Clark will stop being as stupid as he is right now and join back up with them. Eventually. Maybe by the end of the season.
It was pretty cool for Dr. Hamilton to use Oliver's money to get Chloe's place all techno-fied. Though, I always wonder why they need 60 million monitors. Having multiple monitors isn't helpful for one person. Having two or three might be better than one, but having 20 all around you... kind of overwhelming. But it looks cool nonetheless.
I was so happy when Chloe asked Clark to go back and save Jimmy! My plan is starting to take place!! But Clark (in his semi-dumbness) refused. I do see his point and reluctance. When he went back to save Lana, he ended up killing his father. Granted, this is a different situation. Clark had known all season that someone close to him was going to die, and he just saved Lana knowing someone else would have to die in place of her. This time there was nobody that was going to die anyway... he could just go back and kill Davis before he split him or something. Something that would inevitably save more lives than it kills. But he refused. Chloe accused him of having no human left in him, which I think is partially true. Jor-El is making him more of a Kryptonian machine than human. Yes, using his emotions has sometimes gone against him, but they have also helped him tremendously! Just stop being stupid. That's all I ask, Clark.
Okay, what the heck happened at the end? Clark calls Lois, "Promise me this is just between us?" "I promise." And that's all we get to hear?? What the heck did they say? It was obviously something good because she went to bed rather pleased and happy. Then she has this flashback dream thing. I guess we're supposed to assume that's part of what happened when she went into the future? She's hooking up with Clark, Clark is now wearing Zod's symbol, Chloe is running for her life and then dies, Oliver is digging in the ground, a drop falls in water, and Tess is given a necklace. I really don't know what I'm supposed to take from that. What is good (kind of) is that Lois saw Clark's face. She saw that it was Clark she was having sex with. I guess she wouldn't necessarily tie that to the Red-Blue Blur, but she has those feelings for him and the Red-Blue Blur regardless. UNLESS, in their conversation Clark for some reason decided to tell Lois the truth and it's all the same anyway. I don't know. Aghh! Are we going to find out what they said?? I sure hope so.
Okay, that'll do for now. Oh man, Smallville. How do you manage to keep my emotions so tied to you?
