Smallville Ramblings

6.08 - Static

This episode was well done. There were definitely some parts that annoyed me, but it had my undivided attention the entire time. It had two storylines going on at once! It reminded me of a book or something because those like to have multiple things going on at once, especially Dan Brown books.

This episode included a "meteor freak" but it was something that's never been done before! I wasn't sure there would be any new meteor powers left, but someone being able to change what frequency they're in is definitely a new one. It was very interesting! At the beginning when Lex just kind of disappeared, I had absolutley no idea what was going on. Then the credits started and I had to wait! I guess I felt a little like Lana did watching Lex disappear in front of her. I'm not sure how he was trapped in a box in that room, though. How does that work? I guess the guy could control where in the frequency Lex could be? I don't know. That doesn't quite make sense, but whatever. It didn't bother me that much. I was very confused when Lex was in the room with Lana and Chloe and they obviously couldn't see or hear him. What was going on?? But it was all solved in the end.

The whole second plot with Clark was interesting. That "zoner" that he was trying to chase was scary! When it showed him rip out the security guards spine... OUCH! That's like... ugh. I can't imagine how painful that would be. I guess he had to eat bone marrow to live, or something? I don't know. It seemed like the writer's tried to think of the most disgusting thing ever, and went with it. At least they didn't actually show him ripping it out. You just knew. I have no clue who the other guy was that saved Clark, but he could fly! I guess that's what Clark was saying "he could only dream of doing." Umm... Clark, you can fly. Remember? Maybe he wanted his eyes to glow. That is something that I'd want. I just have no idea where they are going to take that. We are obviously going to see him later, I just don't know when! We'll find out soon enough.

I'm not sure what to think of Lana anymore. I can see how she would think that Lex is the most honest person she has ever been with, but she is sacrificing being "honest" with good character. She has seen Lex do some things that are plain evil and she has seen him limit what she wants to do. Though, I guess that isn't that big of a deal. At least Lex is standing up to Lana and putting a line somewhere. It just seems stupid to me that Lana is thinking that Lex is this fantastic person when Clark is a better person. He's selfless and saves others without thought of himself. I guess Lex has done some good before, but like I said before, he has done some nasty things as well. Like in this episode he down right killed that guy! He didn't just immobilize him, he felt the need to end his life. Lana didn't seem to notice at all or care. Clark never kills people on purpose like that. Though, I can't really blame Lana that much, because Clark never told Lana the whole truth. (as far as she knows) I just wish they would get on good terms. But, away from Clark and back to Lex and Lana. Apparently I was wrong before in thinking that Lana didn't like the fact that she was having a baby with Lex. Or, maybe she thought she felt bad and then realized that she loved him and thought it was okay? I did notice that in this episode she told Lex "I love you" for the first time. It's funny how her saying "I love you" came after the whole sex thing. But, whatever. At least Lex appears to be happy about having a baby with her.

Okay, I need a new paragraph on Lex proposing to Lana. Obviously, we don't know the answer yet, but I'm pretty sure we all know that Lana's answer is going to be yes. She said yes to Clark way back in season 5, and now that she is carrying Lex's baby. I don't think she really has another choice. Arg! Clark is going to have to find out about all this sometime! I feel bad for Clark. I just hope that Clark gets with someone soon so he can't be depressed all the time. Maybe there needs to be another episode where he talks to his dad again. That would make me feel better. Aww... I miss good ol' Jonathan and his advice. He'd probably be telling Clark all about how it's okay and how there is someone out there for him other than Lana. Actually, I think Martha told him something like that in "Hypnotic" last season. Whatever... too bad for Clark. Maybe Lex and Lana will live happily ever after. Though, I can't help but think of "Lexmas" where Lex seemed to get everything that he's getting now, and then Lana dies in child birth. Something has got to go wrong. That was Lex's life after he made the choice to drop out of the election. So, what's going on?? I want to see Lex's life get miserable...

Anyhow, what else? I guess I've rambled for quite a while now. It won't be until Dec. 7 that we get a new episode. How sad! Oh well. I suppose I'll survive.
