Smallville Ramblings

8.19 - Stiletto

What a fantastic episode. It somewhat made up for the depressiveness of last episode. We got Jimmy and Lois this time! Not only that, but we definitely got some great Clois moments and a definite big step in the Superman direction by having the "Red/Blue Blur" decide to call Lois. Aww, man. Clark was so happy. Okay, let's move on to a new paragraph so we can really start the fun.

I was excited to see Jimmy again, but I don't really know what to make of his whole situation. Apparently he's pretty low on money, understandably, and he seems pretty angry in general. Again, understandably. Though, what did he get at the end? We can only assume it was drugs of some sort, but I don't know what. I guess it's just something similar to the pills we're assuming he got addicted to, which still makes me very sad. Why couldn't Jimmy and Chloe just be married and happy? Does Smallville have some aversion to happy endings? They only last for like an episode or so. It's so depressing. As long as they end with Clark and Lois being married and living "happily ever after" everything will be fine with me. I know they are going to do it, too. They have to. *cricket chirps* Fine! They'll probably be something wrong and whatnot... one can hope, though. *sighs blissfully*

What was I on about? Jimmy! Jimmy isn't doing so well. Why does Chloe know where he is and why would that be dependent on his facebook? Maybe he has that job listed at she happens to know the hours he works or something. I think she might have just used that as an excuse to Lois for whatever the real reason is. It sure seemed like she was about to unload on Lois about Davis and everything, then she decides to tell her Jimmy's whereabouts which she doesn't completely explain how she knows. I guess she is keeping up with Jimmy in her hacker-ish ways. Somehow. Obviously the internet and computers make it possible for Chloe to know Jimmy's every move. Umm... yeah.

I'm not liking Chloe and Clark's relationship right now. First Clark had to somewhat distance himself from Chloe a bit by not exactly being on her side with the whole break-up thing, and then is all busy with the Daily Planet and Lois. Now he's finally seeing that Chloe is really having a tough time and that she really needs a shoulder to cry on. He finally reaches out for her, only for Chloe to have completely shut herself off from everyone. Though, I can definitely see why she's not telling Clark about Davis and everything, since it's really something she's doing to ultimately protect Clark. If Clark found out that Davis was really alive and Chloe was staying with him to keep him in check... and taking care of whoever he kills... then Clark would for sure rush out and try to kill him, which would only result in Clark probably getting himself killed. Aww, man! It's so similar to the season 6 business with Lana not being able to use Clark as a crutch since the pain she was in was all for Clark anyway. Why Smallville? Why?? At least they are very creative with all of this, even if it is probably shortening my life with stress... *shifty eyes* Yeah, I should probably lighten up a bit about a TV Show. My therapist thinks so too.

One of my favorite parts of the episode was when Clark finally finds "Stiletto" only to quickly realize that it was Lois. It's a good thing he decided for some reason to change into his other clothes and not his Red/Blue business, because that would certainly raise some questions for Lois. "Why did you change... and why did you happen to change into red and blue?" Yeah, I guess it's somewhat possible that Clark actually thought ahead and planned if Stiletto happened to be somebody he knew or something... I don't know. Either way it certainly eliminated some awkward scene when Clark tries to cover himself and then Lois falls for it for some reason. It was cute to see "Blur-etto" that Chloe found. For whatever reason people immediately thought that the Red/Blue Blur and Stiletto were a great match. Oh boy, we all know that it's really just another one of those fabulous foreshadows to Lois and Clark ending up together. *sighs* It's the relationship I can really hope for because I know that it's really what happens in the future anyway. Wonderfulness! Now if I could just keep seeing things going for them, then life is grand.

What I'm wondering is why everything evil done in and around Smallville has to be done with Kryptonite. Why on earth did they have to make the counterfeit money using Kryptonite? That makes absolutely no sense. How would the meteor rock help make it more counterfeit? Either way, it allowed for Clark to rush in and be all hurt so Lois could come to his rescue! And let's not forget that Clark decided to take a bullet for Lois. Granted, he knew that he could just be taken out of there and be completely healed, but he did it anyway. He literally jumped in front of her and saved her life. Now, I just don't know how the whole medic thing coming worked out. They just took him out of there, he heals himself and tries to hide the fact that he's okay, the medics come and check him out only to lift up his shirt and find no bullet wound. Umm... I guess they just decided to leave that part out and let us decide how Clark got out of it without Lois or Jimmy suspecting anything. Which, it was funny at the end when Clark was faking his bullet wound for Lois. She gets all concerned and Clark looks up with a little smirk. Aww... they are so freakin' adorable together. I'm hoping for more adorableness next episode. Cross your fingers!

Lois must have been really desperate for a story to decide on a whim to be a superhero. I loved it when she said, "Next time I'll call myself 'Nike'..." I don't think it's possible for me to love Lois any more than I already do. Oh wait, Clark does. Ha! Okay, anyway. On to Stiletto. I think it's funny the mask thing didn't work at all on Clark. I mean, sure, Oliver could wear a mask and a hood and Lois had no idea it was him. Clark sees Lois in a mask and knows in an instant that it's Lois. "Lois, you could have a bag over your head and I'd still know it's you." Love it all! It was cute to see Lois get Jimmy to do her photography for her. He's like her go-to man for pictures, whether or not he's working at the Daily Planet. I love each inch we get closer to the Superman story. All greatness! All of it!

Okay, so that last scene was basically amazing. Lois has a thing for the "Red/Blue Blur" and Clark has a thing for Lois, and Lois also has a thing for Clark, and they both know it, except that Lois doesn't know that Clark is the Red/Blue Blur. Oh man, it's all so great. The biggest difference between this and the Superman story is the fact that Lois is so openly crazy about Clark himself. I absolutely loved that smile Clark had on his face when he was talking to Lois. Oh man, she makes him so happy. Lois reassured him that she was there for him to talk to her... I wonder how many more times they are going to talk and how close of friends they'll be... and then Lois will find out it's Clark and they'll get married. I love my plans. The writers should try them out sometime.

I think that'll do for this rambling. On to the next episode where we can hope for more fantastic Clois moments!
