Smallville Ramblings

10.3 - Supergirl

I should have known that an episode called Supergirl would have Kara back in it. I thought that maybe someone else would pose as Supergirl or something. It was quite a fun surprise to see Kara flying and saving people right in front of Clark. Though, Lois is completely right, she is putting Clark's identity at risk. Oh! Speaking of Lois--SHE'S BACK! That was the best beginning of an episode I could have hoped for. Clark is all alone and distressed by this superhero basher, and then Lois walks up behind him and surprises him! YAY! I'm so glad she wasn't gone in Africa for too long and that Carter could convince her to come back. *sighs* How wonderful.

Okay, so perhaps Clark didn't get sucked into another dimension. It seems as though this book of his is just a portal to the fortress? No, no, no... I won't give up on the alternate dimension theory. Clark obviously didn't go to the fortress on purpose. The book just suddenly sucked both him and the Superman outfit to the fortress. Not to mention that Clark saw his dad for some reason! That still doesn't make any sense to me. And it really seems strange that Jor-El would suddenly lose so much faith in Clark. We got to hear Kara confirm it as well--Jor-El said that Clark is no longer his son. WHOA. That's rather harsh, don't you think, Jor-El? I think that somehow Lex has taken control of the fortress. Didn't Zod destroy the panel in the fortress? Would that mean that Jor-El couldn't talk to Clark anymore? No, I don't think so. I just think it's too weird for Jor-El to be acting like this. It makes a lot of sense that he would be scared for Clark to try to defeat this "great evil" when he isn't pure of heart, but to disown him as a son? Yikes! Oh, and I must mention Kara's disguise! She's just like Clark! Well, at least the Clark Kent we all know from the movies and such. I'm glad it's more than just glasses. She really does look like a different person.

Speaking of not being pure of heart, why does Clark have all these doubts? I have this wonderfully unique theory that Lois will be the one to make Clark pure in heart and have faith in himself. :) After all, she is apparently pure of heart. That actually made me feel quite good about her. She's such a good person with incredible drive to do what she wants. She is exactly what Clark needs. Much better than kryptonite filled Lana for sure. When Godfrey was talking to Clark, it reminded me of Harry Potter talking to Voldemort. "You're nothing. You can't do it. You think you're a Savior, but you're really evil like me." Eh, maybe they aren't that similar. Perhaps me re-reading the seventh Harry Potter book has something to do with that connection. Anyway, it seems a bit unreasonable for this guy to accuse Clark of being so evil just because he wants to kill Godfrey and has felt that way before. Goodness, every main character on the show has wanted to kill somebody before. Well... except perhaps Lois. Hm. But, really, why would Clark not want to kill this guy? I doubt he really wanted to kill Godfrey, but rather the evilness inside of him. Clark's the one that never wanted to actually kill all of these people. He didn't want to kill Lex, Davis, Zod, or any other bad guy. If Clark would just finally admit that Lois knows his secret then she can give him all the confidence he needs. I'm waiting for it.

Speaking of Clark and confidence, Kara tried to help him fly! He did for a moment there, and then suddenly crashed into the barn. (That poor barn's roof has needed to be fixed so many times...) I got worried for a moment if he was okay, but then I remembered that he didn't have any color of kryptonite around, and that he was Clark. This can only mean good things that they decided to mention that this episode, though. It means that he will actually fly by the end of the season! Hopefully within the next couple of episodes. Again, as soon as he opens up to Lois then he can just focus on her and fly away. It's like Peter Pan--just have happy thoughts! I bet when he goes back to real Smallville land (I still insist he's in stupid land... or something similar) and is finally open with Lois he'll feel so happy and free and just fly all over the place. It'll be so great.

OLIVER QUEEN. What the heck are you doing? I know he said that something had to change back in Shield, but giving away your identity is the solution? How is that better? Chloe and Lois risked their lives to protect your identity and life, and you're just going to give it away so no one else has to? That just makes everything that Chloe and Lois did for you pointless. Completely pointless. You're spitting on their efforts. What is this going to do to Smallville? It really feels like things are too messed up for normal Smallville. Oliver's identity is revealed, Jor-El hates Clark, Kara has shown the world her face as Supergirl, and Chloe is missing. Oh, and Clark's dad randomly appears. It must be another stupid dimension. They better fix all of this soon. That's a fun thing about Smallville--I know that they can instantly "fix" problems like this.

It was rather convenient that Cat was out of town. I hope she stays out of town for the rest of the season. Oh, and I still haven't looked at the opening credits. Usually I have by now, but I guess I'm just afraid to see Chloe not in them and Cat in them. Or something. I don't know when I'll get the courage to actually watch them. Maybe by the finale. It was rather rude of Lois to just throw away Cat's stuff, though. She's still working at the Planet, right? Lois just thought that her boombox and other things belonged in the trash. I mean, I'm okay with it, but it's still a bit rude. Maybe she'll just have to move to a different desk. :) Though, I must say, she seems a bit too nice and not slutty enough to be Cat Grant. Isn't she supposed to be that way? I wasn't a big fan of the Cat Grant on Lois and Clark (the TV show) because of that, so perhaps I'll just welcome the change.

Lois is so curious about Clark and his life! What is it like? It seems as though she knows that he's not meteor infected. Especially with the fact that his cousin is also super-powered. Maybe she knows that he's an alien. After all, she found that journal of his with all sorts of symbols and the book of Rau. We'll just have to wait until Clark finally talks to her about everything to see what she knows. Oh, it better be next episode. It will be. I just know it. Things always work out when I want them to on Smallville.

So this evil thing--can it only inhabit one person at a time, or can it spread to everyone? The way that Kara said it is like a disease makes me thing the latter. Though, the fact that it hasn't spread to anyone else makes me think the former. I'll just stick with one person at a time. So when that stuff was about to inhabit Clark and Kara's bracelet saved the day, what exactly did it do? Did it just repel it back into Godfrey, or is it now out there somewhere inhabiting someone else? Either way it doesn't look good.

Well, this is enough. Why? Because I feel like it, and because the only thing keeping me from watching the next episode is finishing this rambling. So, off I go.
