8.16 - Turbulence
Smallville needs to stop depressing me. I was so freakin' excited to see Jimmy finally come back and see a relationship finally work out and be happy, and then they thought it best that Jimmy would go crazy and decide to break it off. I think watching Smallville is taking years off my life. Oh well, I'll get over it. I'm not really too crazy about Davis right now, either. He's... what the heck? I didn't really like Lois not being there, but I got over it since Jimmy was there. As long as she's back next episode with some nice Clois action, life will still go on. Let's boogey on down to a new paragraph.
What is Davis up to? He's "successfully" preventing the beast from coming out by killing people he sees as evil. He knows that he's doing it, but he's settling for that rather than coming out in full force. I guess it's a couple lives as opposed to a couple dozen each time he "blacks out." Though, he's getting better and better about covering it up and lying about it. Even to Chloe! He went to the extent of drugging Jimmy to cover it all up. I'm liking him less and less. At least he's not completely "bad" yet. He's just slowly getting there. Hmph. Poor Davis. Chloe got so close to finding out that he was really the monster at their wedding. So close! But somehow Chloe was able to calm him down enough to break out of it. *sighs* I'm not sure I like the tension they have. Especially since it ultimately led to Jimmy leaving Chloe.
Jimmy certainly seemed to be doing better. If he was in so much pain and wanted all of that pain medication, it doesn't seem like he'd be able to run around like that. He seemed to be doing just fine. I guess that's why he was able to be let out of the hospital. Man, I just feel so bad for the entire situation. Chloe is finally going home with her husband, and then he's all freakin' out about nothing. Not to mention Chloe's history of mental illness... it must be breaking her up to see Jimmy like this. He really looked like he was losing it when he was trying to "save" Chloe from the monster. If only he knew that when he saw her and Davis hugging that it was because she was torn up about him! She felt guilty about the position he was in and needed some outside comfort. Davis just happened to be that comfort. Though, he can't deny that there's something going on between them. Something that needs to be nothing. I mean, Chloe can't fall for a guy that kills people on a daily basis and then covers it up. Especially when she's got Jimmy who is probably the sweetest guy in the entire world.
Okay, so I guess there was another storyline about Clark and Tess. I was happy to see Tess back, actually. Even if she doesn't seem to be really turning good. In fact, she's turning into Lex. She sets Clark up to have him save her. I really wonder what she knows. She obviously knew enough to feel confident putting her life in his hands. Maybe she actually knows everything and wanted Clark to admit it, or to hear the full story. I don't know. It's rather fishy. What's even more annoying is at the end when Clark guesses that there was only one parachute. I got so excited that he guessed right about the parachutes being in the closet, and then it all got ruined when he said that there was only one. That right there just told Tess everything! Everything! I'm not thinking that much good can come from Tess knowing about Clark. Though, who knows? Maybe she'll turn into the good guy that we all wanted Lex to become. Speaking of Lex, I'm still in denial about him. It'll take a while to get over. I mean, Lex can't be dead! He's in the Superman mythology! What's Superman without Lex Luthor? Nothing! Nothing I say!
Clark and Tess's plane ride was hysterical as well. The funniest part of this whole episode was after they were talking about Clark and Lex's friendship, and then Tess tells him that he was Lex's obsession. Clark made this weird face and like licked his lips weird. What the heck? It was so un-Clark-like! I really laughed out loud. I also thought it was funny that he then decided it would be a good idea to get her drunk so he could get the truth out of her. Then, in his sly Clark-like way, ask her over and over again what Lex had told her about him. Then, I know Tess didn't suspect anything when she asked if he had any secrets and he paused and says he doesn't. So convincing, Clark. Who wouldn't believe you? *ahem*
Aww, it's so cute to see Clark becoming Superman. I'm not sure why he thought that carrying his clothes in his high school (still new-looking) brightly colored back pack was a good idea, but it's cute. :) At least he doesn't just jump in a car and then come out magically morphing into his Superman outfit like in the Superman movies. It's actually plausible to see him change into clothes that he has with him. Maybe if he just put it in a normal suitcase or something that'd be even better. Eventually he'll get better at tieing his tie accurately quickly. Oh! And he's getting closer and closer to flying! I don't care what he says, he freakin' flew out of that airplane to save Tess. That's awesome. He better start to learn... and Lois will help him out. Umm... yeah, right. It'd probably be Chloe. She's the only one (unfortunately) that really knows his secret that isn't dead, in a mental institution, or just off the show for the moment. That'd be awesome. I'm looking forward to his first flight. :)
Alright, I think I'm done with this rambling. Some good stuff in this episode, but the Jimmy and Chloe break up did not make me a happy camper. I'm just hoping they'll get back together next episode, or sometime soon. I can't take it.
