Smallville Ramblings

6.03 - Wither

After watching this episode I felt very bothered. The opening scene made me angry since I would really like for Chloe and Clark to hook up, not Chloe and Jimmy. *sigh* I suppose I can't really ignore the fact that they are together now since they made out and Jimmy decided to call her "my girl." (Heh, that reminds me of Billy Gilman's song "My Girl") I was excited when Chloe had tried to set some boundaries when Jimmy first put his hand on her shoulder, and then they just went for it! Ugh! NOO! I love how Chloe is open game for 5 seasons and right when Clark decides that he might want Chloe, she is taken. (I'm not counting the one or two episodes from season 1 when something seemed to be going on between them)

Maybe I should talk about the episode itself. Ummm, well, I'm glad that they had someone from the Phantom Zone as a FOTW (freak of the week). She wasn't Kryptonite-infected, but it's adds the same feel to the show as the episodes with Kryptonite-infected people. There seemed to be some holes and unexplained incidents that irked me as well. The scene that Chloe saw the withered (heh, wither) vine in the electrical socket at the hospital, I had no idea what significance that held. Maybe I'm just slow, but I thought they could have showed that better, or something. Or not... I think I'm just slow. Wow, my mind is wandering. Good thing this is a ramble and not a well-thought out essay or review. Yay! On to more about this episode...

I was in pain when it showed Clark hanging from the vines with that stick/vine through his chest. Ouch! He also consequently reminded me of Christ hanging on the cross, but that couldn't have been intentional. *cough* Oh! The scene where Clark defeated Gloria (I believe that was her name) was anti-climatic. He's being strangled, and you're in pain and you're wondering what Clark will do to get him out of this threat--and then it's over. What just happened? Apparently Clark just shot fire from his eyes and started the sprinklers. I guess that light that fell from the ceiling 5 seconds ago got wet and sent an electrical shock to her and killed her? The whole scene took a total of 60 seconds, maybe. Just a little rushed in my opinion. I understand that they have to fit an episode within the given time frame, but I can still say that it felt rushed. Really, I can. Yup, sure can. No doubting it.

So, Chloe is living in the apartment above the Talon now? I wonder if Chloe could have stayed at Clark's house (since it seems like nothing will ever happen between then anyway) and Lana could have stayed at the Talon apartment instead of Lex's mansion. Oh, Jeph! That's not possible, Lana has to do everything possible to make you angry. Good job, Lana. Ever since Clark has broken up with you, you have made every wrong decision I thought you could make and have even gone beyond what I thought you would do. I never thought in a million years that Lana would actually go and have sex with Lex. (Teehee, that totally rhymed) Basically the end of the episode made my insides explode continuously for about 5 minutes. I--it... made me angry. I was upset when they showed Clark and Lana in season 5, but at least then I liked seeing them together. Now, I get to see it with the relationship that I despise the most. Joy. *extreme anger* I think I get into this show too much. These people aren't real, Jephthah. They don't exist. Yeah, that's what you think.
I have lost my mind.

Oliver Queen and Lois Lane, huh? Very interesting. I don't mind that relationship. I'm sure that in a future episode Oliver will put Lois in danger and Clark will save the day. Oliver and Lois look cute together in my opinion. I think that makes one and a half relationships that I enjoy. I haven't decided if I like Chloe and Jimmy yet. I know, I said at the beginning that it made me upset to see them kissing. I sound like a hypcrite. I suppose I am. I think that Jimmy is an adorable character and they look good together, but them being together prevents anything from happening between Clark and Chloe! Arg. ARG! Yes, I'm a pirate.

Uh, what else? Oh! So apparently I was wrong before. Clark isn't sick anymore. They didn't bother to explain what really happened. Maybe Martha mentioning (woot for alliterations) Clark being exposed to something in the Phantom Zone was their explanation, along with wearing himself out from cleaning up the streets. Speaking of Clark cleaning up, I guess they are done with that now? Did Clark finish his job? What about the rest of the world Clark?? Tsk. Tsk. Slacking off. What else was I going to say? I don't know. Who was that girl, anyhow? Was she some supervillain from the Superman comics, or something? *looks it up on wikipedia* It doesn't look like it, though I may not be looking up the right stuff.

Okay, this concludes this somewhat odd and discombobulated ramble. I still look forward to next week just because it's Smallville and I'm addicted.
